Got some questions about a People S 50 4T
« on: March 04, 2010, 04:21:07 AM »
I've got some questions about a People S 50 4T, as noted below:

1) Other than the the boss drive, which has already been changed out with the unrestricted version, what else relatively simple can be done to make this model perform a little better considering its hefty weight?

2) Is there a restrictive device on the air box lid?  It looks like somebody before me removed something on the lid side, but I don't know what it looked like before.  If the previous owner did remove a restrictive piece, would removing that particular piece require re-jetting?

3) Can a wire bet cut/unplugged somewhere on the CDI, like the Agility 50, to eliminate the rev limiter or would it require a different CDI altogether?

Any advice would be helpful.  Thanks!

I may be slower uphill, but I'm quicker at the gas pump!

The EASIEST way to know about the cdi is: what color wires go to yours. The only reason to Mod/change the air box is to get more air into  the engine. More air=more fuel. It becomes a tuning thing. You can open your air box and it will be louder but not faster. (?) I would love to see a 60mph People. Just wouldn't want to be on it!

Anyways, I figured out the CDI situation...I cut into the bottom end of the CDI unit (see stock CDI photos below)slicing through the infamous green wire I read about in the Agility 50 section of this forum.  So, now I have an unrestricted drive boss and an unrestricted CDI.  I'll get it out tomorrow (when it's warmer) and give it a try, hoping to get to 35-40 mph on the flats.  Now I'm trying to find out if someone removed something from inside the air box lid.  Maybe someone could post-up a photo of a stock air box lid (inside)...that would be great.
