Screen Fuel Strainer, Auto Cock
« on: February 12, 2010, 10:03:04 PM »
(I have seen the pictures on the other thread).

Where is the location of the Screen Fuel Strainer?

Is the Auto Cock also the Fuel Filter?

Not positive, but I believe the fuel screen you are talking about is the screen between the the auto cock and the fuel tank.  This is not the fuel filter, which should be located somewhere inline between the auto cock and the carb.  The screen is just to keep larger junk from entering the system at the top, the fuel filter actually filters out the small stuff.

If you look at the shop manual, P50 cap 02 (info generali)... Diagram 2-19 has a line pointing to the Auto Cock labeled as "Fuel Filter" (which confused me).  I'm assuming this is just a translation error?

I'm assuming the fuel screen is right at the fuel tank outlet?

There is a thread titled "people 50 project,"  the pictures show the lines coming out of the Auto Cock (looks just like my scooter), I have nothing between the Auto Cock and the carb.

Is the fuel screen all that is "stock" on this model?

All the auto cocks I have ever seen have a "screen" that is a tube about 3 inches long that sticks up into the fuel tank.  It goes in from the bottom of the tank between the tank and the auto cock.  It may be the only filter on your particular model.  If so, I would go guy a generic inline fuel filter and install it between the auto cock and the carb.  I picked up one at the lawn mower store for cheep!  I also like to use the clear ones as well as clear fuel lines.  That way you can see how the flow is going, or if there is any garbage, or air in the lines.  I also get these at the lawn mower store, it's the only place I have found that has them.  They are actually yellow colored lines.
