Thanks, Sid.  I really enjoy this scooter.  I don't think the pump problem is indicitive of the overall quality of the scoot.  This is just a one in a million type of thing.  Having done this work on the pump has just got me more familiar with where things are and how it all works.  I don't think there's any problem with riding it like it is for quite a while.  It's not leaking so much as to drip off the engine.  Just evaporates within 2 inches or so from where it leaks.

Besides, I'm really grooving on how it looks in the dark with the orange leds lit up underneath the fairing, engine, rear fender, etc.   :D

Something I use on all engine/cooling jobs is Sno Bowl. I know already .... Toilet cleaner YEAH! It contains HCL. Hydrochloric Acid. It will dissolve the "crystals" you saw. It is unusual to have a weeping condition after flushing the system on a brand new pump. You did see the corrosion on the outlet tho. That material had to go somewhere. It is in the engine. I would try using 2 bottles of snow bowl, and ride the scoot for at least five miles. it will start to foam out of the recovery bottle so you will want a rag to catch it before it stains any of the metal parts. Let the scoot sit for three to four hours w/ it in it, and then flush w/ a garden hose. Flush both ways. From top to bottom. and from bottom to top. I actually use Brick wash which is 100- 200 times more concentrated than Sno Bowl, but I don't want to see you or your scoot hurt. The timing is different w/ the wash. so DON"T TRY THIS AT HOME. I think you caught a piece of debris in the new pump. I also think it will work itself out. IF NOT at least you contacted the supplier to notify them there is a problem in paradise. On a PS note; Was that a rebuilt pump? Un - likely but had to ask!

Well, I didn't ASK for a rebuilt pump, but when it arrived it sure looked like one.  I mean it was clean and had new everything on it but the body of it also had the bead blasted look to it, ya know?

Also had a date of Feb 09 in blue ink like stamped on it.

Might try the sno bowl deal after I ride it a while more.  Especially if I have to replace pump again!  I hope to get through this riding season now with it like it is.

Hopefully this'll wrap this thread up.  The new water pump seems to have stopped leaking after the first ride or two.  I've put another 75 miles or so on it since then over maybe 10 warm up/cool downs and no probs.  Yea!  I'll post again if anything further develops.

Thanks to all.   :)

Clean living, and hopeful thinking! Most likely just a bit of trash under the seal.
