HID!
« on: September 26, 2010, 11:30:05 PM »
I was able to install HID headlights in my SYM HD 200. Totally awesome!

I don't think it is possible in the KYMCO, at least not without a lot of re-wiring,as the S has AC headlights...

Too bad. They only draw 35W, so power is NOT an issue.

Wish HID mods to the S200 were street legal!  The stock headlights on the S200 just don't cut it - nowhere near the illumination of a Majesty.

Anyone know of a street-legal headlight mod?

What is not legal? I have been running H4 HID on my people S 125 for 2 years now. Same lights just different bulbs. Fantastic for spotting deer and moose at night.

I assume you had to rewire - the system is AC, the HID requires DC power.

Or are you saying you installed those "HID like" H4 bulbs, which in fact are NOT HID. You need a balast and inverter for HID.
