Big Guy Scooter Help
« on: April 14, 2016, 12:22:05 PM »
Hello guys. Just joined this forum, looks to be a very cool place to be with many nice folks here. Well after much researching online I will be buying a Kycmo scooter soon and was wondering if any of you could offer me some advice ?

Im a fat bloke. 20 something stone. I know. So I need to know is there any Kymco scooter that can carry me ? I was looking at the Agility 125 but it seems to have a max load that is just a tiny bit under my weight. Also looking at the 125 models as Im limited by price budget.

Any help would be greatly apprieciated  :)

See if you can get your hands on a grand dink 250, that is going to be more your weight, and still some power left over!

I'm 6'4" and weigh a good 280 lbs. and ride a People 50 2T. I am installing a Malossi Big Bore kit. I don't travel very far but I love it. I've had blast. I think it depends on how far and whether it's primary transportation. I've owned 6 scooters and the Kymco is by far the best.

I second the Grand Vista (Dink) selection. A 250cc or better scoot would be more suitable to someone of your size.

Cheers guys, I had no knowledge of the Grand Dink.  :D

I will look into it. Out of curiousity would being slightly over the max load damage the bike in the long term ?

I am 5' 10" and 304, I had a People 150 that I put 12,000 miles on before trading it for a 250. I really loved the 150 very agile in traffic and around town, it would go 50 to 55 without any wind or hills. The Super 8  150 would probably be a good fit for you unless you want to travel on major highways or hill climb.

I'm a fat guy. I ride a 125 no problem. I dont take it on freeways, but that's essentially illegal where I live, anyway. But I have about a 5 mile commute up some serious hills and the agility does just fine.
