tach doesn't work
« on: November 13, 2014, 05:30:25 PM »
My tach needle is pegged to the right.  I took the plastic cover off and moved it back to zero.  It actually worked for a little while, but it's back to being maxed out again.  Is there something to check for that might be causing this or do I just need to replace it?  Thanks for any replies.  Cheers

update:  I bought new speedo assembly and unfortunately got in the wrong one (see for sale thread if interested in buying).  The problem was the speedometer cable connection, 2003 has an angled connection, I received the later version that has a straight connection.  I did connect all the wiring to test, and new tach worked properly all wired up.  So, at least I know I need a new tach that fits, it's not a wiring problem between the tach and engine.  Cheers
