No tire police in the US  :)

I have a 120/80-16 rear tire on my people and love it. 100/80 is stock. The 120 width is actually quite a bit taller than the 100 width even though the aspect ratio is the same. I have a Shinko SR568R. It's been good to me. Haven't lost traction yet.

As far as handling, no noticeable difference in steering response. I'll tell you, I can lean much much further into a turn now. Before, my kick stand would scrape the ground all the time.

That's exactly why it's taller.  :)
You had 80% of 100mm before, and now you have 80% of 120mm.
It's 16mm taller, or 0.6".

Guys, any comments on the Duro brand scooter tire? I've seen them here and not familiar with the brand. Thanks!

I'm searching for new tires for my Super 8. I can't wait for the original Cheng Shins to wear out, it may take a hundred years. These tires are tough but quite slippery when wet. Rainy season is coming, that's why.

How many miles are the original Cheng Shin tires lasting on a Super 8 150cc?

I have 1300 miles on mine, front looks great, rear looks good too.  I ride conservative.

They'll never wear out, but will try to kill you repeatedly after about 4000 miles.

Ah! makes sense. Hence aspect ratio. Duh!!!

Duro makes good tires for 4 wheelers. They last. Not sure about they're scooter tires though.

That's why they last a hundred years, the scoot and rider died.

I just put a 150-70-14 on my Kymco Super 8 and it fits… Did have to modify the splash guard on rear tire. Handling is fine better if anything as I have exactly the same ratio as before with a slightly larger from tire. One thing I did definitely notice is that take off is slightly slower and RPM slightly lower for same speed.Highly recommend this tire over the original ride is so much better and smoother. For a good place to locate this tire try Chaparel my brand is Shenko sort of like the Cheng shin original which I got 5000 miles out of on pavement roads and it was still legal when I took it off. Front tire still going at 15,000 but is getting close to tread marks. bought a Michelin 120-70-14 City Grip and it lasted 2000 miles and was toast (Illegal) so didn't have a good experience with the Michelin thought maybe I got the wax prototype it wore out so quick… I ride all year long Rain Snow shine -20 doesn't matter if it's not fresh slick snow thats slicker than… I go. Hope this helps all who are seeking this answer. I looked for hours and found surprisingly nothing or no one who's tried it. Was shocked it actually worked… (literally Shocked) Praise Kymco for their insight to engineering a great scooter that performs well is easily adaptable to oversized tires and designing a scooter that can withstand a crash and still come out not badly scathed. Well done in their design.

Did it make any difference in top speed?  You've effectively increased your gearing quite a bit.

Can you give us some pics on the modifications and details on what you had to do. Please.
