..please help!!..
« on: May 26, 2010, 08:53:30 PM »
...i'm trying to find a larger diameter variator for my A50...

..my Malossi multivar is roughly 3.52 inches, or 90mm...

..i notice that the variator for the S9 is the same as the cobra, people50, dink and a few others..all two-strokes..

..what i would ask is, that the next time any of you guys are in your cvt, could you measure the outer diameter of your variator and the diameters of your output shaft and drive boss??

..i think that these two stroke variators might have larger diameter variators, and if the shaft size is the same as mine, i could make it work for me...

My ZX50 oem variator is 88mm across the face.

The drive boss is 20mm OD, 14mm ID, 38.5mm length.

M Dr. Pulley sliders (6 gram) turned up today, so when I put them in I will measure my variator. The boss wouldn't really matter, you could get it machined to suit if needed. :)

If you use your boss you could machine it down to suit if it is a larger o.d.

Hey Slinger I lost track of the post w/ the belt size. I have compared the oem #'s and they are different. The searching I have done give me #'s taht are every where from 739-752mm for the same belt. That may be why so many others have blown belts that are claimed to be correct. I had the same trouble when i installed the Malossi Var before doing the clutch. I would suggest getting the full kit deal, and the belt that matches. It seems the most reliable way. I will look more tomorrow
