City ride & the CARP
« on: June 14, 2016, 06:36:48 PM »

Germain to nothing....
Went fishing for 1st time in yrs today.
License, Two poles, no bait - just stuff in fridge. Looking in my tackle box when a big carp came along and snatched my brand new pole ($12 - Walmart) straight into the lake!
45 mins later I spot my bobber  in the middle of the lake. I'm out of turkey and sausage, (bait) but I have 1/2 hr before I have to collect my daughter from VBS. I start casting, and after 10 tries I drag across what I think is a turtle way out there. Hook it and reel in my new pole!!
Line is snapped (fortunately I'd forgotten to loosen the drag on the new reel) ....the pole floated to the surface by the cork handle!
Tomorrow going back and try and catch my bobber - there is a BIG fish on the other end of it!

There were only a few doz. people watching my fishing exploits - but since I am a scooter rider I am absolutely immune to what people might be thinking of me!

another great sunrise
Stig
Wife & daughter, "How'd the fishing go?"
Me, "Great. I caught three fish and my pole."

BTW - the lake is 'catch & release'....so I feel ablidged to go find that fish and turn him loose.

No pictures, didn't happen. lol Seems to me the Carp followed the rules. Snatched your rod then released it.  ;D

I caught a "fish" ( pole)... and it was this big.... ( hands held apart as wide as you can). HaHa . Sounds like a great day Stig!!!
As far as being immune, to what other people think, I'm with you on that. A bad day of fishing, is better than a good day of work!!

I've tried fishing several times but just apparently don't know how. Still would love for someone to teach me how to really catch fish. I like the idea of catching dinner.
