I found a place that sales all sizes of belts. you can match up to any belt you have. So with that said. Is it ok to go wider and shorter on a belt for maybe faster take off and better top end. Or is it longer belts that do the trick. I don't wana go so high up I hit the starter bendix eather.

When it comes to performance I heard it's best to stay with the recommended belt size and instead experiment with different weight rollers. Their are manufacturers that design variator/clutch kits with different specs than standard to optimize performance. But that's a match set all working within the parameters of your bike's optimum ability.

Stay with the stock OEM belt. You will not see any increase over stock with different sizes. Would almost certainly result in poorer performance. A wider belt for example, will not increase the "gear" ratio.  That is controlled by the size of your variator and rear  pulley. I agree with Troutbum, your best improvement can be made by fine tuning your variator weights to keep you in that RPM sweet spot in relation to your weight and road conditions. Good luck!

Please make sure that your pants don't fell down when your belt breaks.  Like mine almost did when my belt broke last week.

if you wanted to change up at all go with a slightly longer belt this has been proven to allow more travel on both variator and rear driven pulley at top speed incresing it by a small amount but don't expect much and don't go much longer just a tad or belt could possibly slip off at top speed especially if you have certain tops of performance or oversized variators.
