interesting discovery
« on: June 27, 2016, 11:14:38 AM »
Discovered that my xxxl NOLAN full face modular helmet will not fit under the seat of a Burgman 400. The HJC XXXXL does, easily, but not the Nolan.
Nolan really does use a different size shell for their larger sized helmets. !!
Underseat of the Burgman IS massive. ....but no go on the XXX Nolans.

Time to install a large top case and use the underseat storage for keeping bake goods warm.

Does the Burgman have security pegs for helmets under the seat?

Does the Bergman have security pegs for helmets under the seat?

My 650's have a hook and cable for hanging one off the side.

Stig, you should just claim that you need that size of helmet to accommodate your vast storehouse of knowledge and wisdom.  ;D

After catching flak from Burgman folks I tried again. ...took pix to prove to them it won't fit without marring the helmet.
There are a couple helmet hooks under the seat. ....but Nolan has clasp,  not D rings.
Bought a couple of motorcycle helmet/jacket locking cables for $9 ea from ebay. Secure it on seat using passenger rails.
Actually I rarely park my scooter where I'm not looking at it.
Sitting outside at Tim's right now with helmet on......they've gotten used to seeing me at sunrise. If I go to Yellow Spings first.....they tell me I'm late!

So wear the HJC and bin the Nolan.

Yeah, both are modular helmets. The diameter of the XXXXL HJC is an inch less than the  XXXL Nolan.
No matter, staying with the Nolan - I much prefer that Italian hat.

I haven't looked at the newer HJC modulars, I have an older symax and its huge compared to any other helmet I have, I had a modular Fulmer once, it was smaller shell, but junk, the hinges corroded in one winter season
