Uxv 450i steering bushing
« on: January 12, 2017, 03:51:32 PM »
Anyone else have an issue with the bushing under the steering wheel for the steering shaft going into the column? 2 me it looks like a 1 piece neoprene bushing with a washer collar all 1piece. There is no set screw or c-clip to hold it down. Every few days it works its way out and I have to pull the steering wheel and push it back in. Any ideas

I would check the parts list to see if there is a clip missing or a locking nut,.

Cyclepedia and Kymco USA also has a part finder option on their website.

Just viewed the parts diagram on cyclepedia, appears to be a "bushing" as they call it but no way to hold it in place, it looks like it is sandwiched between the wheel and column.  Just looked into the service manual and it shows the bushing just sitting there with the steering wheel on top held in place with a washer and a flange nut.

From looking at the manual, I guess I don't understand where the bushing can go, perhaps you have a pic or something to help me see what you have. I have the service manual so if I can see what you mean I might be able to help you out.

When it pops out agian I'll take a pic and show what i have going on there. The bottom of the steering wheel doesn't sit on it there for doesn't hold it in.

I am very curious as the manual shows it sandwiched in between the steering wheel and a step on the column. Have you ask your dealer about this?  Still under warranty?

I think if you put a spacer between the bushing and the steering wheel then it won't come out.
