Safety Vest & Helmet Decal
« on: July 22, 2016, 06:43:44 PM »
I am a big fan of hi vis gear.
I've been wearing this safety vest over my (black) leather Icon armored jacket on long, high speed rides in warm weather.
In my area of the country - it is OK to be temporarily mistaken for a Policeman.

At night.....

Recently picked up some 3M reflective helmet decal strips to compliment the effect....

The helmet tape is the same 3M product I use on the rear of my scooter. Looks black in the daylight....reflects white at night.

Cars behind me tend to give me more room when I wear this vest.
I hope the helmet checkers add to their caution.
(typically the cars hang back, while they sort out the message on the vest.)
Stig

PS: as you can see in the first photo - the rear tire hugger on my LIKE200i has gone missing ...along with my hair.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Great tips, Stig. Where did you find the 3-M tape? Online, or retail?

I use checkered 3M on my People and never fail to wear my hi-viz jacket. The jacket really makes me much more visible and if I crash, it provides some level of protection. Good advice Stig. Man, that Like is some "hoss" of a scooter. ;)

you could also use one of the "super white" headlight bulbs that look bluish with a headlight modulator

surprising how many people pull over
