Hi!
Many times I've been wondering what's the purpose of this tube inside air box. I thought that it prevents water and dirt from entering the air box, but if that's the main reason then it is doing its job quite poor - after rain when I open the air box there is always some water and dirt inside. Then I thought that maybe this tube is some kind of restriction? Like it prevents more air from entering the air box, reducing power and so on. It's made from rubber and getting rid of it should be quite simple. Any ideas is it worth doing so?
You can gain a mph or two by taking it out, but you will have to play around with the jetting and mixture. On a100% stock engine it's almost not worth messing with it.
