Windshield Ideas for UXV 450i
« on: January 26, 2017, 03:38:12 AM »
My 450i that I purchased came with a pretty nice one piece windshield. I like it just fine. But come summer time I want to be able to remove the upper half. So my options are either cut my existing windshield (which I kind of don't want to do) and put a piano hinge across it and use the pieces like seizmik have on this windshield to secure the flipped down portion - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fxm-yB9EgH4&feature=youtu.be

Or buy another windshield all together. I like this  http://www.pacificeagleutv.com/kymco-450-windshield

I also have the factory roof, I like it as well. But would like to seem some other hard top options come out for it eventually.

I have a list of things I want done before riding season cranks up here:

-Mirrors (close to ordering the ones from seizmik just waiting to here back from the company for the dimensions on the two I am looking at) (really like the company Seizmik, they're a local NC company about 2 hours from home, so I like trying to support them, just wish they wouldn't make EVERYTHING mostly for Polaris.)

And this light (little pricey but I like it) Could probably just take one of my head lamps and run some Velcro through it and strap around it.

-Mud flaps for the front wheel wells (see Mud flap topic on the forum)

-Adjusting the preload on the shocks to gain some clearance (and eventually 26x9-12 tire on the front and 26x11-12 on the rear, probably Maxxis Bighorn 2.0)

-Maybe some additional lighting or upgrading the headlight bulbs.

And I think thats it. For now anyway LOL. These machines are pretty solid in stock form as is.

Thanks for letting me ramble......Love this Forum.

Jew, its guys like you that keep these forums going strong. No one should buy without doing their due diligence, and this forum is practically a one stop shop for that, thanks to guys like you.
On another note I was maybe hoping Arctic Cat was going to get bought out by Kymco, but looks as if someone beat them to the punch. A company called Textron.

Yeah that is interesting. I seen that come across on my facebook. So in your opinion, and your family selling both, whats your take on it? Is this good for Arctic Cat?

I think Arctic Cat was/is drowning. Unfortunately as awesome as the Wildcats sxs are, I think they over estimated how many they were going to sell, and they are stuck with a bunch of leftover models in a warehouse, which is why they have unrealistic expectations this year for most of their dealers. I spoke with one of the last Arctic Cat dealers in Florida, and he said last yr a lot of dealers dropped acat. Kymco sells a lot of engines to Acat. Im curious to if thats going change. And if so how it will affect Kymco. From my understanding Kymco restructured their company and financials last yr and are very financially stable. I think Kymco is going to make a splash this yr in the sport sxs market. I just hope they aren't too late to the game, as everyone thinks they have to have a Polaris RZR for some damn reason.

I guess I didn't really answer your question, but all I know is that they acat better do something fast because the 6% market share compared to the 60% polaris market share in the sxs industry isn't going to cut it. Kymco may be a 1% sxs market share but they are a worldwide and honestly probably make 90% of profit on their bread and butter Scooters.
