How hard to change the rear tire on a Like 200i?

Hi everyone,

I bought a 2012 Like 200i an hour ago and I'm really excited, but that rear wheel looks like its going to be a brutal job to repair if I get a flat tire. I'm a farmer and good with tools, so do you think that fixing a rear flat is something that I can do? Is there a shop manual or video that shows how to do it??

Whether it´s hard or not, depends on your definition of hard. 
But definitely different from "normal" bikes.

Not everything in these manuals seem totally correct. Especially the torque values are questionable sometimes and sometimes on the (very) high side. So use common sense and your brain. Your are working on soft aluminium parts. Use a torque wrench.

Just one more advice: You might need to use a 2 arm or three arm puller to get off the fork (bearing) and the wheel from the axle the first time. Afterwards clean everything from corrosion and dirt and use Never Seez for the rear axle shaft. And maybe for some other bolts too which are prone to rust (if you are a raindriver). So you won´t have any troubles the next time you need to take off the fork/wheel/bolts. Rear axle nut torque is 120NM. Front axle nut torque is 60NM.

But a small tire puncture could also be repaired with a simple tire puncture plug repair kit. The quick and easy repair so to say. Available on ebay and Amazon e.g.

 Are you talking about the tire removal, or tire Replacement? I have removed the rear tires from both of my Likes. One tire was worn out, the other ran over nails. The first time, it took about an hour to remove the tire. The second bike took about 20 minutes. I did not replace the tire myself. I took it to the dealer and they mounted the new tires. I reinstalled them easily enough. It takes a bit of pushing and pulling to clear the shocks, but not a big deal. Just use blue Locktite when assembling.

If you get a flat on the road you can normally just plug the tire and add some air and go.  No need to remove the wheel.  I always carry a plug kit and CO2 inflater with my.  You also need some pliers because sometimes the nail or screw that causes a flat is hard to remove.

Although a plug is supposed to be temporary I have run as many as 13,000 miles on a plugged motorcycle tire.  You can get a plug kit at Wal mart or any auto parts store.  The best kits use the Sticky strings.  Specialized motorcycle repair kits with plugs often don't work as well.  That's my experience anyway.  I have never had a sticky string fail.  Every time I used something else it ended up leaking.

To take off the rear wheel on a KYMCO Like 200i motor scooter and change the tyre.

Special tools you will need: torque wrench, if you dont have one, dont even start!

Other things you will need: correct  torque wrench settings, so you dont die.

Caution, the left hand side of your  KYMCO Like 200i motor scooter is all CVT, the right hand side is where you change the wheel and tyre.

Also, the KYMCO Like 200i motor scooter is fitted with EFI, dont damage the O2 sensor when you remove the exhaust system muffler

Its a very good idea to take photographs as you work, just in case.
