Engine Swap
« on: December 19, 2016, 04:55:11 PM »
Hi

Just wondering whether a GY6 engine will fit into an Agility 50 or whether much else needs to be changed.

The bottom bearing is going on my KG10SA engine I believe.

Any help appreciated.

Many thanks

Yes you can swap a gy6 in it. I put a wildfire 50 cc in my kymco frame and got another 4 years out of it. You can go bigger to like a 125. the only thing to remember is the cdi box is dc and the gy6 is ac so you do have to swap that out to. after that everything is plug and play.....

Thanks Blue

I like the bike - shame if I had to scrap it if the engine is funked!

Can I just change the 50 for a 125 without any mods????

That would be awesome!  As the 50 does struggle a bit with the hills!!

Just as long as the motor mounds match up you should be good.  Double check that befor buying a motor.

Yes, you can swap in a gy6 50cc.  No you can't swap in a 125cc because the motor mounts are in the wrong place.  But the 50cc swap is a no-brainer.  Everything fits except the inner rear fender liner, and that takes just a simple home-made bracket to make it work.  Another commenter says you have to swap over your old Kymco ignition assembly (behind the flywheel) to the new engine. This is correct, but it's not difficult, maybe takes about 1/2 hour.

If doing a swap is what you want just do a big bore kit. then swap that motor in.
