Guys, I cleaned my carb and didn't catch how a little black piece that fell out of the hole under the spring in the diaphragm goes back in. The spring rests on top of it.  It has a little spring in it.

Question is, in what orientation does that little black piece go back in? I THINK it goes back in with the spring pointing down toward the long pin that goes in and then turns to lock it down under 3 little nubs that are in the bottom and then the long spring sits on top of that little black piece. If that's correct, is the black piece supposed to stay locked under those nubs or is it supposed to float?

Thanks guys for the insight.

Thanks a million! I THINK that's the order I put it back together but will check tomorrow. The piece that the little spring is below has a hole in it and doesn't quite look like that pic though. It's actually slotted so you can use a screwdriver to twist it so it'll lock under the tabs in the bottom of the hole. The little spring actually went inside the hole of that black piece as I recall.  :-\ Any idea if its supposed to stay locked down or float?

Opened carb back up and pulled diaphragm and needle jet out and picture is not same as carb in mine.  The piece between the tiny spring and big spring is totally different than one in picture.  Scooter running like crap.  Barely makes it up a hill now.  Guess its gonna have to go BACK in the shop and keep throwing money at it until it finally gets right.  :(

Called a Kymco shop and described how I put it back together and I feel confident its back together correctly.

One guy suggested increasing jet size slightly since the restrictor washer was removed from intake tube. More air with original jet size could impact performance. Anybody removed that washer and had to increase yet size?

Got it back from shop. Pilot jet was clogged and air/fuel mixture needed tweaking. Runs a lot better now but still slows way down on hills. Guess I could lower rollers from 6.5g to 6.0 and see what that does.
