Mode selection
« on: June 20, 2020, 01:18:58 AM »
I am trying to buy a 2012 Kymco people gt 300i and rode one yesterday and like the scooter.
I was checking out the instrument cluster and could not change modes.
Does the four dots in the bottom left hand corner of instrument cluster light up to tell you what mode you are in?

Does it have an owner's manual?

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Assuming the instrument is the same for both 2012 and 13 mode shift is done by holding the left button for what seems like an eternity! All that does is change between kilometers and miles which has a km or miles next to the odometer numbers. The right hand button, ADJust shifts among odometer, trip odometer and service odometer in that order, I recall. The trip and service odometers can be reset to zero. The ODOMETER or total miles for the machine cannot be reset.  To reset the other two, one at a time, simply hold BOTH MODE & ADJ down at the same time for three seconds. Setting time starts by selecting the ODOMETER with the ADJ button, then hold both MODE & ADJ until the hours start to blink. Advance the hours to the correct time with ADJ. Then push the MODE button to shift to minutes, yada, yada. When the minutes are set then both buttons getcha back to ODOMETER. Military time format only! Har, har! Any problems, call Major Tom!
