Here is my story, documenting for the net
I picked up a nail in the read tire of the scoot. It was sort of holding air though. I topped it off and drive to the closest dealer open. That dealer had tire patching capabilities, tubes and a new tire in stock and were willing to help while I waited!
I drove the scoot over, I added air 2x in the 30 mile or so ride. The scoot handled perfectly and air pressure was never below 15-20 or so.
I opted for a tire plug. The mechanic remove the nail plugged the tire and I went on my way. I got about 25 miles and the rear tire went flat, my handlebars started to wobble due to the flat (Going about 65 mph). I was less than 1/4 mile from a place with air so stopped there (versus side of the road). I added air but it wouldn't hold. Air went out almost as fast as I added it.
I called my daughter to come get me in my pickup truck. We loaded up the scoot and returned to the shop. They put in a tube for me while I waited. I got maybe 20 feet before noticing wobble! I returned to the shop and the mechanic felt it too. They were getting towards the end of the day. They tried checking air pressures but that wasn't the issue. He ran it up on the center stand and it seemed to me that something in the rear was out of round or not aligned correctly. They tried to add "Balancing Beads" to the tube but that didn't help.
I ended up leaving the scoot with them.
I don't know what the issue is yet. Any guesses?
My guesses
1) I Fd the rear tire when it went flat at 65mph
2) Something not assembled correctly when wheel went back on
3) I Fd the rim when the tire went flat
4) tire not balanced
Other ideas? Hopefully I get a good news call from the shop and it wont cost me more $$.
