Best 88 dollar upgrade you can do!
« on: September 06, 2009, 07:55:04 PM »
Just put a set of Pirelli sl36's on the 05' super 9. WOW! What a difference. I know the cheap sh**s (i mean cheng shins suck but these are awsome. First, the oem cs's have a weird angle on them to where your really just riding on a thin strip of rubber rather than a flatter "more rubber to the ground" pattern of the Pirellis. The Pirellis tread pattern is cool also. The increased grip is instantly noticeable. Even sitting still, tha handlebars that used to just fall to either side now take significant effort to turn. When riding, it takes more effort to turn than before but once you get used to it, its way cool. Awsome deal at motorcycle superstore.com $89 shipped for both.

Nice to hear. I hate the stock tires on My People 150

Too bad they don't come in 110/70-16 and 140/70-16.  :)

I got a closeout Pirelli GTS 23 to replace my front tire, recently (it was a gift from one of my blog's readers, from my Amazon wishlist), and just had it mounted about a week ago. The original Kenda had two plugs in it, and I just didn't feel good about continuing to ride on that. So far, so good, but not a dramatic change in handling.

Mate, that rear tyre looks worn out.
ZX50, 47mm cyl. kit, TZR50 CDI. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres,
Next performance mod; pumping the tyres up.

You guys have any comments on the Michelin Pilot tires,

cyclegear has a deal for my Super9, front and rear shipped for 79 bucks.

Just curious, and do you guys change your own tires?

Cool, I got a couple tire irons from Harbor Freight today, are the beads hard to break yourself?

they can be a pain w/o any tools..just gotta work the bead loose with your irons going around the tire.. if you can get to ANY tire shop around, THEY CAN break the bead for you if nothing else

Thanks, I am going to try this weekend to get the rar one off at least,

BIG question? On an A/C Super 9, does the rear wheel come off easily after you remove the 15/16s nut holding it on,

I am borrowingh a 1/2" drive impact gun to get it off and am hoping it does remove easily.

Thanks art,

I am going to order the tires today, going with the Michelins as cycle gear has free UPS ground so it's only cisting me 78 bucks for front and rear, however I do have my tire irons and will try and get the tire off.

It's chopped really bad on left and right sides,  ;D
