Gone but not forgotten
« on: June 22, 2017, 04:04:54 AM »
There used to be a company in San Diego called Thurlow Leather. They made the finest seamless palm deerskin leather gloves. These gloves could be worn in the summer and mid seasons...most comfortable I have ever experienced in 55 years of riding. If you had a tear, seam rip or hole, Thurlow would rebuild them to like new for $2! I'm on my last pair now and kinda sad about it.

I don't wear gloves in the summer or warm months, but in the colder times, I insist on a quality pair of
mittens. They keep the cold air from getting into your sleeves. The days of companies like Thurlow Leather, you mentioned, are all but gone, in America. I'm old enough to remember when most retailers stood behind their goods, every one except the sellers of manure spreaders, that is. hee hee

Sad to see the demise of another quality company that stood behind its products. Those days, sadly, are quickly disappearing...

I have never seen those gloves...  They do look nice !

I guess my usual source for gloves is welders gauntlets at the supply shop.
They do have different styles and grades.

The last pair (I do not remember the brand) of deer skin ones I bought at the Long Beach motorcycle show through Del Amo Motorsports. They are my daily use gloves and very comfy.
