wheel offset

As I have posted before, most of the miles on my UXV450i are street miles, I bought a spare set of 12" wheels and a most street oriented tread, but they are still "off road" tires and DOT tires in 12" are rather expensive

been looking at 14"x7" wheels that I can buy regular car tires for and have found wheels with a 5+2 offset and 4+3 offset

I will be mounting 235/60R-14s, for $80/tire, I can get a tire with a 50,000 mile treadlife warranty

    Be sure you check the OD of the tire, wouldn't want to see your gear ratio get to far out of whack with the equipment you tow. Could be really rough on drive belts if the tires are to tall.

235/60-14 is theoretically 25.1" tall, as close to identical to stock size as you can get

and only 9.3 wide that should work very well for you. what tire are you going with?

    Hopefully we will get a pic of these new street treads and wheels!!  With these new tires will you be able to run a higher air pressure similar to a car?

thoughts on offset ?

looks like stock front offset is 5+2 and rear 7+2     

so If I go with the 4+3 offset, I would have a 2" wider wheel base, but would that be detrimental to bearing life, I would assume the stock offset puts the weight squarely on the wheel bearings, so a 4+3 would center the weight and inch outward from the wheel bearings

is this a big deal or not

      If you are only one inch offset I don't see that as a big deal as you are not hauling heavy loads only towing heavy loads if I understand correctly. I would not want to go more than the inch if it were my machine. I like to ride and play but not work on them so I do whatever I can to keep work at a minimum.
