Phoenix AZ, To Michigan trip.

Hey guy's, I just got back from my trip from Phoenix Az to Michigan on my 2007 xciting 500! Six day's in all travel time. Over 2,000 miles one way. Total miles about 4,500. I don't have time to write much today, but anyone who say's (wow you bought a scooter huh)? Or (what will that thing do? 50 MPH)? Or (why didn't you buy a real bike)? Well' you can tell them to shove it where the sun don't shine. I traveled all most all free-way. Day one, left Phoenix at 11:10 AM (late start). 460 miles Alburq-New Mexico. Day 2 700 mile's Tulsa OK. Day 3 1,004 mile's Michigan. (yes I drove all night. Arrived 4 AM). Yes this is not a miss print (1,004 miles in one day). Home trip, day one 740 miles. Day 2 685 miles. Day 3 645 miles. A little diff route's there and back. I'm not bragging. I'm just sick of people putting down scooters! Over 14,000 miles on bike now. Oil changes, nothing else. Original belt to boot? Saw some big Harley's & Gold wings on the trip, a few Beemers. And alot of bikes on trailers? Trailering your big touring bike? And they call me a SISSY MARY!

Geez, Sissy, YOU are a trooper! ! !   A super Scooter Trooper ! !  That's more than most riders EVER do -- including the big tourers. 

And I thought I loved riding !

I am impressed. I have been thinking about taking my 500 from Florida to Michigan but I worry about what if I have a problem just where will I get help with a Kymco. I have never had a problem but do not want to be half way and then break down. Your daily miles are really impressive to me how was the seat?

SM, my hat's off to you.  That's some real touring.   I would not hesitate to head off to anywhere in the country on my Xciting.  1004 miles in a day...  That's Iron Butt territory.

I bought an 2009 seat from Kymco. The 2007 seat is to peaked at the front. 2009 seat is more flat. I will not lie, there was some discomfort with the seat. But with an average of about 700 miles per day, what else could I expect? It was not real bad though. I found that if I stopped about every hour or so, walked a little, I could get back on and ride another hour. I found out that if you let both feet-leg's just hang down or hang free at the sides of the floor board's, just dangle at the side's if you will, this releaves the pressure on your tail bone, and made all the differance in the world. I would do this for a few moments every now and then, and I was able to continue on and on. Go for the trip to michigan. The 500 engine & CVT can  not be stopped by man nor beast. I have progressive insurance with road service. Take Kymco's phone # with you to find a dealer if needed, I'll tell more of my trip when I have time. Cold, rain, sleet, and a tornado in the pan handle of Texas! Lion's, tiger's and bear's oh my.
