Need Spade 150 tune-up info
« on: October 23, 2017, 01:59:46 AM »
Hello all, new Kymco Spade owner here.
Just bought it a couple days ago and have been trying to find service info on it.
I have read the whole manual and it is totally lacking useful service info.
What I am looking for is the recommended oil spec and valve clearance. The owner's manual only says to use Kymco brand oil, it doesn't say whether to use 10-40 or what. I don't want to start an oil thread, just want to know what weight oil Kymco calls for.

And here's the new toy with its stable mate (If I have managed to correctly attach a picture.):

I’ll ask my dealer if they have service info, I would hope they do....

Ok I have to ask.
Why remove the badges from the Kymco?

Thanks AMAC.
Have you not gotten enough miles for first service on yours or do you have the shop do it?

Re: badges, I always like to take off as many stickers as possible. Sometimes the get renamed. Note the other bike in the pic. Stickers are for tool boxes and shop fridges.

So, after a fair bit of searching, including searching for tech info on the Asian version of the Spade, the A.I.R. 150, I think it's safe to go with a fairly typical .004" and .005" for valve clearances and use 10w-40 motorcycle oil. Can't go too far wrong with that.
