2002 Cobra Front End Problem/ terrible handling
« on: March 26, 2018, 07:46:34 PM »
Good afternoon, I have a great Cobra that I picked up years ago, getting 45-50 on stock motor, but the steering has gone out. Mechanic can't find what's wrong, and I don't want to replace whole front end. It won't stay straight, wanders around under you. Anyone have any insight on my problem?

If you stand in front of the scooter, facing the scooter with your legs straddling the front wheel, hold the wheel secure with your legs and try to move the handlebars left and right.  Is there play?

If front end solid....engine mount bushing rotten?
How old is the scooter, how many miles?

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

I'm with Stig - check the motor-mount bushing (or bolts).
