Have not had any problems yet, but they are a pain to reach! My guess is your not getting it tight due to the difficulty of getting to it.. Be sure the rubber O ring is in place, as that will help keep it snug.

I use pliers to tighten. That is twice it has backed out need to check it more often I guess will get a new one

Is the O ring in place? If so you may need a new one. Mine is so tight I frequently need oliers to loosen it

I took a piece of wooden closet rod and cut a groove in it to loosen and tighten that dipstick.
