How the heck do you know?

Whether or not there's different threading in the mirrors?

I started shopping for mirror extenders (photo below) and I've found that some are "regular threaded" and some are "left-hand threaded" and all of them say "check to make sure of your thread requirements before purchasing" so my question is, how the heck does one determine whether or not the threads are what they are? You can't just look at the things, can you?

I may just drop by the dealer, and ask the guy to ask the technicians who assembled the thing exactly what they are, and what I need if I'm going to get mirror extenders.

They'll know if they're 8mm or 10mm, and whether one is left, or both are regular.

I hope.

Anyway, this is what I'm going to be getting:




Two things to consider...
1) The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse always gets the cheese.
2) Eagles may soar, but weasels never get sucked into jet engines.

Anyway, this is what I'm going to be getting



Unfasten your mirrors - measure the threads - will be smooth/no threads, or threaded 8mm or 10mm . Some are 1.25 threaded, others 1.50 threads.(coarse or fine threads)
Won't know till you look. Some are RH thread, others LH threaded.
It's fun yeah?

My Piaggio also had to have straight up extensions to get the extender clear of the plastic.

I really don't want to take anything apart that I don't have to, and those things I do, I only want to do it once. So, I think  a trip to the dealer is in order. I'll ask them, and they ought to be able to tell me the specific tools I need, and the details.

Yep... It is fun. Right up to the point it stops being fun.  :o

Yep... It is fun. Right up to the point it stops being fun.  :o
Yeah, they might know, esp.  if they had to install them after uncrating. Or maybe they were folded in place.
Grab one and twist counter-clockwise, if it snaps off that tells you to turn other way next time.
Scooter mechanics is easy.....
and exciting - especially if you use a cheap torque wrench!
