Cdi Still Restricted!
« on: May 19, 2018, 09:20:37 PM »

I have remove one of the little purple wires from the cdi box.
New 38 mm glide bushing.

With the bike fully warm, I tried really going wot down a slope.
With only a slight increase in rpms and top speed. By the end of the slope still going wot the bike started to hesitate and backfire.
So the bike must still be restricted in some way, or possibly the cdi has gone bad.

The purple wire cut is suppose to move the rpm limit from 7500 to 9000 rpm.

Hear is a video (not my bike) showing that there still is a restricton when the wire is cut:
First: original cdi with the wire cut:

Second: Aftermarket unrestricted cdi

The question is what to do now?

Timing is correct and valves are adjusted.
My setup:
72cc gy6
47mm cylinder head 21 in / 19 out
Performance camshaft
Polini variator 4,5 gr
Unifilter
Leovince exhaust
15% stronger torque spring
Stock carburator

You want more speed put in heavier weights.  Especially with the 72cc upgrade kit.  6.5 or even 7 gram will help you increase your speed.
2015 Super 8 50R
72cc BBK
Polini Hi-Speed with stock boss and 6.5gr rollers
Naruko 1000RPM White Spring
Technigas Silent Pro Exhaust
3 x 1" Air Filter additions to Air Box

Sure, but the rpms will drop even more.
I have purchased a naraku unrestricted cdi, waiting for it to arrive.
But I have heard some people having trouple with it.

I really cant see why, it should't work?
The cdi is sold by most dealers, if it were sh** they would probaly stop distributing it.
