Aftermarket Air Cleaner

I just bought a beautiful 2007 Maroon p250 and I wonder if any of you experts out there know where I can obtain an aftermarket air cleaner for my ride?

..keepin mind, that if you replace your stock filter with a free-flow, you will need to increase the size of the main jet in your carburetor...it will draw more air, thus more fuel will be needed to keep the mixture from becomming lean....you should also see a slight increase in performance by doing this...

Hi,

Someone on another site cut the paper element out of his stock air filter and replaced it with either an element from an automotive filter or glued some UNI foam material in its place.

I'm a little hesitant to try this. Doesn't K&N make a direct replacement?

They do but it is not listed as such. You will need the OD of your carb, and the amount of room you have to install one. You may also need to re-use some of the stock bits to adapt the set-up. http://www.knfilters.com/

K&N filters are great. But the stock filters seem to hold up well. Take it out and tap the bugs and dirt/dust out of it, then blow with compressed air (not too close). You will get more life out of it.
