Recommended Tire for Bet and Win 250

I need a new rear tire and the current one, a Maxxis 140/70-12 , well I can't even get to the Maxxis website. Are they still in business? Can anyone recommend a cheaper( $50 or less), good tire for this scooter, or a good website to buy tires from? Is a bias ply tire okay for this type of scooter? TIA

I tried a 130 width Michelin City Grip rear but didn't like it. Probably changed the aspect just enough. Bike felt nervous. Replaced it with the original-size 140-width tire once it wore out.

I like Kenda.

There is no free lunch: If you are getting 12,000 miles or more on a scooter tire you are sacrificing road grip. "Sticky" tires wear out faster then high mileage tires but give you more adhesion, especially in corners. I went down on my Moto Guzzi due to an advertised high mileage tire that spun out on a dry road with no gravel or sand to blame it on, just lousy grip.

Of course, we scooter riders probably aren't dragging our knees in turns, but still....

Spin out on a Guzi, cylinder head touched down caused loss of tire contact.
Knees never touch on a MG, just engines😊
Got 12000 on a rear Michelin City Grip riding like a scooter rider.
Front is still on there at 14000.
