So lemme get this straight: somebody hits the scooter, knocks it over, leaves it on it's side, and then takes off.  Yep, my opinion of mankind has been reaffirmed.

Ditto.  I work at a Supermarket and what I see some people do just boggles the mind.

This is when you need a flesh-eating lawyer.

I don't know what I'd do if I ever found Diana like that. I know that I'd lose it, especially if it was a drive-away. That's one of the reasons I never park in parking spaces in shopping center lots. I find a nice place out of the way off to the side where no idiots ever drive. At the local Lowe's, there's a little courtyard with a big planter in the middle of it. I park behind that planter, about 20 feet from the contractor's entrance. All the Lowe's employees that have ever seen me park there have said it was a good idea to be there and was okay, since no one ever goes behind that planter.

Man, I really hope you find the driver, and get the book thrown at him or her. Hitting the bike, damaging someone else's property, hit and run, leaving the scene of an accident, and anything else you can think of.
Two things to consider...
1) The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse always gets the cheese.
2) Eagles may soar, but weasels never get sucked into jet engines.

Funny I can't tell you how many times, say with a car I parked out in the back forty just so no one is around and when I come back out there is this open lot but yet someone parked next to me.  ::) Parking up in front of the HD or Lowe's is always better knowing how most of the customers drive.
