so i drove 2 hours to get the ATV and bring it back so i could put in the shop. Now it doesn't make any noise at all. It went from sounding like hell, to being alright. I have no idea how a noise like this can just "go away". If i take it to the shop as it is, it would appear as if nothings wrong with it.
only difference is that it was 95-100 degrees outside when it was noisy, and its about 5-10 degrees cooler outside now that it isn't noisy. I've assumed its something in the cvt tranny slipping, but it could be something else. I let it sit for 2+ weeks outside in 100+ degree weather and it never rained. is something overheating? maybe i had water somewhere and it dried out?
if i drive through this one dry creek that has some rip rap in it, it will coax a small noise out of it. if i drive through ruts where one tire is in a hole and the other isn't, it'll do it. happens quicker if you're turning full lock. almost reminds me of "transmission wind up" like 4x4 truck could have with a locker being used on pavement. if it gets tilted side to side in bumps is the only way i can bring this noise back so that i could show a technician and get it fixed under warrantee, but its hard to duplicate. it's doing ok on flat lands, big hills, at all speeds. its just the side to side motion you get from having one tire in deep hole. strange...
any ideas?
