I was on the way home doing about 70. bike started to slow down. Got it home took the case off. and i saw this. (In pict) A little while      ago I got a replacement engine from the dealer. I realized that I got a Dt300 motor not a People 300 gti which i have. I replaced the dr pully 20x12 14g and sliders and belt. I noticed that i have lea7 and lea5 parts, Is there a difference in size in the parts that the belt was shredded. Where is the best place to get replacement parts?

thx

Someone smarter than me on here said the engine-transmission units are the same except for the final gearing. That makes perfect manufacturing sense. I had a similar failure of belt in a DT300i caused by stopped air flow. Mice had packed birdseed in the CVT air inlet.

it looks like the pulleys are to big for the frame that would not leave enough space for the belt to wobble, the sliders on the back of pulley broke from over torque as the pulley is on the boss with no power from crank shaft except from the sliders ,  and the outer pulley , lighter roller sliders might have worked  by not pushing the belt out to far,  I would have reved the motor with the tranny cover off , to see how it worked , before  riding it, hind site is always 20 / 20

reading again the sizes are the same but the ramp the slider rollers  go into are different, they will push the belt higher out,  I bought both variators to see what the difference was,. I was looking for lower RPM s for my downtown at speed,.  ended up I had to grind the downtown pulley ramps  to do that ,.  now malossi is doing that for lots of scooters,.

I suspect the variator will be fine as long as the little bushes are replaced at the same time as the roller. It's what they're there to do - protect it from massive breakdowns like this!
