Almost got to ride the HONDA SH150i

Cycletrader showed one was for sale at my local dealer last night. 3,200 miles, $1899
Stopped by this morning - sold over the phone last night to a fellow in Wash., D.C.

The friendly salesman let me go back and look at it, as it awaits U-Ship.
He said OTD + shipping came to $2,200....
It has been down on left side, with scrapes to the leg shield and the $300 case.....which I figure reflected the discounted price.

Was really looking forward to a test ride - as this has been a dream scooter of mine for several years. My first look at one in the flesh. The color was better in my imagination.

I had a honda SH-150 in Rome and it was one of the best scooters that I have ever ridden(I had the exact same color bike in your picture). Never had a problem starting it and it was easy to work on. Until gas prices get expensive again, there will never be the kind of interest for these things. Europe on the other hand, its a way of life. I wish that Honda would have still offered this model along with the SH-300...

My wife decided she wanted a scooter. I was looking for her and trying out small scooters. The SH 150 was the first one I tried. It was a decent scooter and ran good. At that time, the 150 was new in the states.  My local dealer was asking an outrageus price for this scoot. I decided to do a little more looking.
I traveled to a Vespa/Piaggio dealer and tried out a Scarabeo 200. It was a better, more powerful ride that had disc brakes front and rear. If I remember correctly, it also cost about a thousand dollars less than the Honda SH 150. We bought the 200 and it has been a very good scoot. She still has it.
It turns out the Scarabeo 200 was a much better value.
At about the same time, I was interested in the SH300 for myself. I never got the opportunity because it was never imported.

Yeah, these Hondas listed at a few hundred dollars MORE that a 150 Vespa! Crazy money.....plus they weren't even made in Japan for that $.....but Italy!
For that kind of $ (more than some 250 and 300 motorcycles ) I would want Japanese quality.

I've looked 'em over and they're decent enough.  Nicely made, no quality complaints I've heard of.

My only real issues with them are that they only did one year here so parts and such will probably have to be sourced elsewhere, & that  my HD is quicker.
There's a guy on ADV who was bemoaning swapping to one for that reason.  It is noticeable.
