Kymco ZX50 Oil Change - Possible Air Lock
« on: September 04, 2010, 05:13:44 AM »
Just servived my girlfriends ZX50 by changing the oil dince it's a 2 stroke as the one she was using by Caltex is supposidley too thick. Anyway, she runs for a bit and then she cuts out if you rev her for a bit. She'll start again an does the same thing. Did this a few times and she seems to idle now. Saying that, i disconnected a hose to the carb and i've heard someone saying about an air lock. Can this happen and how do you fix it?  :-[ Think i'll let it idle tomorrow somemore with the new oil to flush out the rest of the old stuff though a Kymco mechanic suggested putting half a cap of Fuel injection liqued in the fuel to help flush and resolve the issue.  ::)
