I can't offer much in the way of wisdom about your choices. Have a look at servicing charges for the S-MAX - I know the N-MAX is very expensive to get serviced and I wonder if the S is similar.

Do you have a SYM dealer near you? They're big in the UK but I don't know what their profile is in the USA.

Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll enjoy the ride :)

Now THAT is informative! There is a wealth of information throughout this thread that should be of interest to anyone considering a scoot in the 150 to 170 cc range. Much better than most of the reviews by authors employed by magazines. I am very surprised by the 400i as it looks like they actually used a 6 foot rider to "ergo" the design! I may have the "hots" for one of those if I get tired of the DT. Fat chance!

That dealer a secret, Klav? I would like to visit that guy! I thought it looked like Sloan's in Murphresboro at first.

It's Max Motorsports in Pelham.  They have a pretty good reputation but I have not personally bought anything from them.........yet.

Sym dealers are very few and far between here.  I think the nearest one is near Atlanta, about 4 hours away.

Servicing the Smax is pretty easy to do.  Other than tires or warranty work I expect I would do just about everything myself.  The local Yamaha dealer is great if there was something I couldn't do myself.  I expect the Like150i to be as easy to service as my Super 8 but the nearest dealer is 2 hours away.
