6AM Oct Riding...on 2nd thought
« on: October 29, 2018, 11:07:50 AM »
Putting all of this riding and weather gear on in order to ride a scooter  miles into the dark boonies for a cup of coffee. ....somtimes seems a little daft.

Then this big quiet adventure bike passes me out there 2 hours before sunrise, gives me a toot....and makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, and not so dumb. He's commuting to work - I'm going for coffee. We're both on a mission.
Then it starts to rain.

Yeah, well, that is a cross.....wait a minute! Your nearly nocturnal rides have kept your "horse" healthy and nearly trouble free! This is just more proof that regular exercise makes machinery work longer and better. Probably true for the operator/rider as well! I just wish it would not take three days to get there so I could join you for that cuppa coffee!

On the dark, wet, leafy ride home I was also thinking about the reliability of this 2012 LIKE200iLX.
Vivo told me years ago that a Kymco would be a reliable all-weather work commuting scooter. (his endured a couple dozen typhoons ea. year)
I trust this scooter to get me home...in the cold, in the wet, the heat. On city streets, or a 55mph county highway if need be.
At 14,000+ miles it still looks and rides as new. True, it lives in a garage...and carries a 14amp. Yuasa for sure starts in the winter  sticks..  So, there's that.
Good scooter.
....and goodnrss knows -- the coffee boys could use some new blood. They're starting to repeat their lies...
And, I could introduce you to all my weird street people.😊

I have to be fair to my Like 200i - it was in a rougher condition, with considerably more miles than most of yours, and I dragged it around Ireland and the UK over a two week period. Not once did the reliability (beyond blowing the lighting fuse) remotely concern me.

I'd happily recommend Kymco on the basis of reliability any day.

It's such a shame their UK supply network is so crap.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger! But it does seem a bit better in the US with at least one dealer that jumped on the parts situation and seems to have stuff in stock.

Which dealer is that Xbolt? I ordered parts, they took my money, a month goes by and I call them and they have some lame excuse 'we put the order in but there was no confirmation from the other  side so nothing happened...' - supposedly we are all good now (still waiting for those parts).

We need to update the 'pined' links to Kymco parts suppliers as they are out of date.

I had a good experience with Racing Planet
https://www.racing-planet.de/kymco-c-26-1.html?sessID=d98635ba0a79159b15c01e02b04b935c

The official Kymco importer for Croatia couldn't get the part I needed for more then a month, so cancelled it and ordered it from Racing Planet. It came in under a week for roughly the same price + postage.

They also have a UK address
