2018 Like 150i Windshield
« on: August 12, 2018, 03:16:12 AM »
I just purchased the Slipstreamer Scoot 60 Windshield for my 2018 Like 150i scooters.

I found them on Amazon for $98.00 and the arrived in less then a week after striking out with a few other companies.

Installed and adjusted in about 20 min and worked well up to 55MPH. Didn't try or need to test them any faster.

Hope this help,
Mark

Thanks for the info, and for the pix!
This should be a big help to other owners.

I tried a universal windshield and it didn't work.  The Kymco Like 150i has a weird screw in mirror that goes into a bolt that is tightened.
Did you have to do any modifications, or did the included hardware work?  This would be great.  Love the 150i.

All my included hardware worked perfect. I removed the mirror mount and the included extension where the offset mounting plate goes just screwed right in. It was very quick and still works perfect

Great!  I'll be ordering it.  Now I'll see if Kymco has a rack for it.

I got the Slipstreamer Scoot 60.  It mounted fine.  Basically, I removed the mirror, locking nut, long bolt/nut.  Screwed in the Sipstreamer mirror mount, put on the offset mounting bracket, put on the original long bolt/nut, put on the original locking nut, and insert the mirror.  Works great.  Thanks.

Anyone have any idea if the mirrors are 8mm or 10mm threads?   The mirrors are horrible and I need to replace them immediately.  I also bought the Slipstreamer Scoot 60 windshield but I'm on the fence right now about it.  I seem to have a lot of buffeting so I will try to move it around a bit to try to eliminate or minimize it if possible.

Welcome new member!
Are your mirrors too short for your body type?
Mirrors on a LIKE200i are 8mm smooth shaft compression fits. Hopefully a 150i owner will chime in here to help you out.

Perhaps a clip-on screen extender will solve your buffeting problem - to save fitting another screen?

Buffeting of the head is no fun - the tall stock screen on a Burgman 400 used to beat me up at anything above 35mph. I actually found a short ERMAX (French-made) sport-screen to be much more comfortable. (pretty 'sporty' at 85mph!)

Some screens just don't work for riders of certain heights.

I believe the mirrors are 8mm after unscrewing my Yamaha Majesty mirrors which have to be 10mm.  The Like 150i mirrors sit in a compression style nut arrangement.  It doesn't take much for this nut to strip or be over tightened.  Mine were poor and wobbly from the factory and even worse now that I've installed the windshield so they will have to be replaced.  Thanks for your help.
