G'day all, yesterday I asked the local bike shop about balancing a scooter wheel, when I mentioned it being the rear wheel they said "no, we don't do them", it seems that they don't have a jig set up for it. I went to our local bearing supplier today to see about a couple of bearings to put in the wheel to balance it at home and it seems that 18 mm bearings are not a common size. After a couple of phone calls he managed to find that they may be available, will find out on Monday. For now I bought two 17mm bearings and set the wheel up to balance it with some stick on weights that I got from a tyre fitting shop. It took a little time and was an interesting endevour. So, to sum up, I won't be paying anyone to balance my scooter wheels again.
