Speedometer
« on: September 20, 2010, 06:01:33 AM »
Okay, I'm done with the dealer that sold me my scooter. I really think their mechanics are inept. First they said they were going to charge $100 labor to change a tire on my 500. Then the next day I noticed a screw sitting on my footrest (from the side of my scooter) and I can't get it to screw back in. I figure their must be a clip or something thats missing with threads for a screw, and they just decided to NOT FIX IT. Now the speedometer is not working right. They probably screwed it up when they replaced the tire. WHATS A SCOOTERIST TO DO??
Just remember, if the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off.

Sad but true, they are out there charging top dollar for that sort of work, unfortunately you don't know until after. This is just more reason to do what you can yourself, with regard to changing a tyre, if I don't replace it myself, (I do on the little scooter but not on the bikes) I take the wheel off and take that to the bike shop, they only charge for the tyre fitting, which I think is included in the price of the tyre. Hope you get your speedo sorted.

$100 for changing the tires! Wow! Here it costs just $2 front/rear. Well labor is cheap if you're living in a 3rd world country! Lol!

Geeezzz...   I don't blame you, but I really hate to see anyone get ride of a great machine because of a really poor dealer.  I have a great dealer and still take the wheel off and take it down to them to mount the tires.  I do that on all the scoots and the bikes.   I hope you find another good scoot with a decent dealer in your area.
