MXU 700i, anyone with a snow plow?
« on: February 20, 2019, 10:50:15 PM »
I am about to pull the trigger on an MXU 700i that is a leftover 2017 for a pretty good price.  I want to use it to plow snow for a VERY long driveway.  Can anyone recommend a plow setup?  I see a bunch of WARN kits for $400, does anyone have one and does the universal mount seem to work?  I think I will go with a center mount for strength, but would prefer the ease of a front mount, just read of some cracked parts with front mount.  Any suggestions helpful, thanks in advance!

So replying to my own thread ........

Just to help folks out in the future who may be looking at plow kits.  WARN makes a good kit, their PROVANTAGE line.   No part number is listed for the 700i so they will tell you they do not make one, but they do.  If you wish to use a front mounted plow kit (instead of the mid-mount) the warn part# is 86142.  Just look for the provantage front mount 86142 and you can then use the standard front mount push tube and plow size of your choice.

This is the same part# as the old MXU 500i, the frame must be the same. So if you find a mount for a 500i, it will fit the 700i.

Cabelas has a mount kit that has a good reputation and is reasonably priced. I highly recomend a mid mount, you are correct that front mounts are for light duty plowing only. I have a UTV , 450i by Kymco but have had quads in the past. The mid mount gives far less strain on your machine's frame!
