Electrical Issues After Jumping Agility 125 with Car Battery

Having some electrical issues and trying to troubleshoot.  2011 Agility 125. 

I left the bike in the 'on' position over a weekend and found it dead on a Monday. Jumped it with a car revving its engine (which I've since learned is a real bonehead move), and think I may have screwed up my electrical pretty bad.  I've since replaced the battery and a blown fuse and can now get it to start with a jump, but once I turn it off (even after a long ride) it wont restart without a jump.  Also, when I use the turn signals, or switch from hi- to low-beams, the electric sounds all gurgly (like when a clicker gets stuck), and the turn signals are just staying lit. 

Is this possibly the relay solenoid? The starter motor? Worse? Based on the forums I've read about jumping a scooter with a running car, it seems I could've possibly torched the entire wiring system, but I'd like to try and trouble shoot it before taking it to the local dealer (not to mention no one works on Kymco's here in SF anymore since they no longer import into CA).

Hi.

It's really, really hard (read impossible) to diagnose over the internet, but I don't *think* you've done as much damage as you think you have done.

The sound you're saying from the indicators sounds a lot like a dead battery still.

Do you have a battery charger? Charge up your new battery and see if the bike will then start under it's own power.

The second thing I'd be tempted to try is whether the bike is charging - there's plenty of Youtube videos showing you how to check if the bike is charging itself - you will need a multi meter.

I have a suspicion that your bike isn't charging the battery anymore. The good news is that you have probably done less damage than you think you have.

Try and find out, then come back to us :)

I THINK as long as the fuses on your scooter are still standard, you "should" be fine.

Having said that - something that concerns me a bit about these Agility's, I am only aware of two minute Fuses inside the battery box and I couldn't find any other fuses elsewhere.

Apart from those two minute (low Amp) fuses inside the battery box - do these scooters have more fuses, or diodes at certain components elsewhere to protect all components  ?
If not - maybe the complete wiring system is not completely protected  - therefore all the warnings about starting the scooters with jumper cables ?

Some scooters have additional fuses under the front leg shield.
Yeah, they tell me jump from car battery is OK, but NOT from a running car!

Thanks all.  Viper, I borrowed a drip charger from a neighbor and will give that a try and report back.  If that doesn't work I'll look to the multi-meter.

Re. the fuses, the only two I'm aware of are by the battery box, and one of them was blown.

Appreciate the quick replies.

Good luck. Let us know how you get on. My Kymco only had the two fuses in the battery box - it's not unusual.
