Neighbors firing up their HD's
« on: May 11, 2019, 08:22:14 PM »
Goofing on the back patio....and listening to my neighbors firing up their bikes. Two cruisers of some kind - medium loud; 3 loud HD's; and 4 scooters resting quietly in garages. (my 2 and neighbor's 2 LIKE200i's )
That's 9 bikes.....and my wife points out that every one of them showed up after I started riding my LIKE200iLX  t hrough the neighborhood 6 yrs ago.

I've been out today, at sunrise. No way I'd take a scooter out for a leisure ride in this Saturday afternoon traffic. Maybe my son's 500X Honda, but not a scooter. I DO enjoy shifting that thing....the power band has the most forgiving engine/clutch combo. Next to impossible to stall it.
He's selling it - so it's staying parked.
My daughter asked me if my scooter license qualified me to ride the motorcycle. I reminded her that I  passed my riding test ON a motorcycle 6 yrs ago.

Please tell your sweet daughter that the women in the WASP squadrons typically qualified in as many as 30 different types of aircraft, single engine to 4-motor multi-engine beasts. They were even checked out in B-29's to shame the men who refused to fly those "fire coffins!" That's how Col. Tibbets got enough crews to drop the atom bombs! So if they could fly more than one type then you should be able to cross-deck between motorcycles and scooters! Har, har!
