Kymco Maxer help
« on: June 02, 2019, 10:46:56 AM »
Hi I have a kymco maxer that I am selling due to a move to a small apartment that is not practical to keep it  :-[
Someone asked for the mileage and I pressed and held mode as per manual. No mileage came up but the service light has come on and won't go off. I have held for five seconds etc, pressed a few times but nothing in the manual shows anything for this.Any help spread appreciated please.

Type "Kymco maxer owner manual" into your internet browser and pick "manualslib.com" to find the answer.

Thanks for the reply but I cannot find an answer in the manual. It was fine until I kept pressing the mod button. Probably touched adj button as well. It wouldn't give an odi number and after a few more times of pressing the service light came on and stayed on. Sorry if I seem a bit dim but am in the latter stage of life and to be honest I am at a loss to sort this. Thanks so much for manual .

You are NOT dim because the answer is not in the manual! At least I could not find it, either. So, for the time being, let's assume the Kymco designers are consistent in their panel logic and we will go through some steps that work on the scooter panels of similar capabilities. With the key on, the panel should read speed zero, battery state, temp(when button pushed), odometer(s)/time (when time button pushed). Pressing the ADJ (adjust) button for 3 or more seconds should shift between ODO (odometer-non-resetable) and TRIP (resetable). I am going to guess when you want time, you push the time button and when you want one of the odometers, ODO or TRIP, push the ADJ button. There should be a third odometer that has no tag like ODO or TRIP and that will be the service odometer. It will appear in sequence with the other two odometers, like ODO, TRIP and then __________. Cycle through the odometers until you get to the one with no tag, then push both ADJ and MOD (mode) at the same time holding both for 3 or more seconds and the service odometer will set to zero and the light will either go out immediately or after you stop pressing the buttons. Try all that and see what happens. You WILL NOT SCREW ANYTHING UP BY PUSHING BUTTONS! You might run the battery down but that will be it! Have fun and post what you find!

Hi Karl thank you so much I have tried and tried. I thought I'd give it one last try today by keeping the buttons down. Took about 20 seconds but it's gone off now.
You are an absolute stat. THANK YOU
Best regards
June xx
