Nice guy with troublesome Vespa
« on: June 21, 2019, 01:58:15 PM »
While doing the sunup coffee thing at water's edge again today - daughter and I met a nice fellow riding a yellow Vespa 50.
Well, of course I was all over this poor guy like a long lost girl friend 😊
We had a nice chat. He said his Vespa was always in the shop...just like his previous Chinese 50.
Said he was looking to move up to a bigger scooter, with bigger wheels..
I shared my positive 2yr experience with my 2018 Liberty 150i....including the MSRP of $2999 for the 155cc version. (much less than his Vespa 50)
He said he'd google it and read up.
Nice guy, and nice to chat with a scooter owner.
Will post his pic when I get home

Will be interesting to see which model Vespa 50 . . 2 or 4-stroke.  Did they happen to say what type of troubles?

Pretty sure it was a 4 stroke. Quiet, newer.
Mentioned "several fuel pumps"  and it eats tires.
He called me a "gear head" because I check my own valves.( he lifted the bucket and showed me that all he can reach is the spark plug)....and a "warrior" because I rode to work once when it was 3°F.
He enjoys his scooter most because he can motor over to ocean fronts, early mornings, on quiet streets.
I told him I do the same, in rural Ohio, - but with coffee and cows😊
