How many use YouTube to figure stuff out?
« on: June 15, 2019, 07:59:31 PM »
I turn to it all the time . 👍👍
Somewhere,  sometime - somebody has already figured it out!
I break a heck of a lot less stuff now, too.
Scooters, autos, sinks, appliances, moon shots, roofing, organ transplants. Every kindadamthing!

Even if they're wrong, they're often laughingly wrong. So there's that - for entertainment.

Yup use it sometimes.
There have been times that the best thing I get out of a hypothetically how to video is a good look at what I'm going to be working on vs. actually following their methodology.
That said there are a lot of good videos out there.  All lf LeDude's Burgman 650 stuff for instance.

I use it a lot.  You just need to watch enough to determine which people actually know what they're talking about.

and love it.
Lately, YouTube has been screwing up by sticking commercials in EVERYTHING!
I really hate that.

I always say I have a degree from YouTube university. Pretty rare
That I can’t find and informational or tutorial video on something on there.

Yup, Youtube is the best thing since sliced bread became popular. Compared too Google, I find Youtube a lot more useful and I use Youtube very often to get information about any given subject..

At Google one usually need to do a lot of reading to find useful information. Nowadays I hardly ever use Google.
At Youtube I normally just have a look how many people already had a look at any given video, and normally get high quality information almost instantly just by watching the most popular video. To see on the video how somebody else already got something I still need to learn right,  is an absolute bonus.

Instead of watching boring Tv shows, I spend most of my spare time watching interesting Youtube videos these days. I just wish I was younger - I could have learned so much more in life just by watching Youtube videos....

Several times when striking out elsewhere. Easily irritated at some of the tiniest things, I have to grit my teeth when waiting for the author GET TO THE POINT while waving the camera around ike a one-arm paper hanger inna wind storm! There is a wealth of good stuff on youtube.

Love it when they go hunt for tools.
(my worst utoobs are 1/2 hour helmet cams of american pavement coming at me while we get to hear about his trip to Home Depot ) (we are no longer mesmerized by the novelty of gopros on 2 wheels) (his own mother would doze off during 95% of these!)

I use YouTube all the time too!  My go to guy for all thing mechanical is 'Mustie1'.  He makes quality videos, has a very 'teaching but humble', can-do attitude that I find inspiring.  Fixes VWs, motorcycles, mopeds, outboards, lawnmowers, and occasionally scooters. Check him out.

Having just started fixing up a big old house, I find I spend most of my time on good 'ol "AdTube". The level of adverts has really ramped up, though :( We're not so used to commercials here in the UK.

Just install a good 'ad blocker' in your browser.
