clutch symptoms

Bike has turned over 46,000 miles. Other than standard parts that wear out or need replacements from time to time (tires, plug, filters, belt, etc.) the bike has been stellar in performance and reliability, far exceeding my expectations when I bought it in 2013. Recently I have found the bike idling higher than usual but under 2000 rpm. Having replaced all the parts in the drive pulley assembly with the exception of the clutch I am curious as to what symptoms would indicate a faulty or even "past due date" clutch. At this point and this mileage accumulated I am considering moving up to a bigger scooter, such as a Suzuki Burg or a Yamaha 400 Majesty or even possibly this 650 BMW that is floating around the metroplex with an asking price under 5k, rather than put anymore money into a scooter that might be nearing the end of it's run. I want to keep it till the end but not throw good money after bad. Thank you.

I am on my 11th rubber band drive maxi-scooter since 1990---over 400,000 miles (current 2019 Kymco Xtown 300I).   I usually trade at 50,000 miles----your Kymco, my advice just run until won't go anymore and replace with new and warranty.  I have had 2 new Burgman 400's---liked them but they are not as reliable as Kymco, 2 new Honda SilverWings (over 90,000 miles with them) reliable but hard to work on,  don't BMW scooters have Kymco engine?I am BMW owner since 1958----they are not that reliable or cheap to keep. 4 new Helix and a Reflex, again Kymco more reliable....but like Helix!

With new Kymco, I am happy with performance/reliability/ride and of course price----65-70mpg went over 80mph on freeway today----I have about $4300 in my 2019 plus Puig windshield and Laminar Lip. 2 yr warranty.

Takes over $8,000 to get into new Burgman 400.

Thank you John for your thoughts on other bikes. I would have never thought a Suzuki would be less reliable than a Kymco as it is a given that Japanese cars and bikes seem more reliable than from other countries but I guess growing up in the 70's and 80's and being force fed "Japanese are better at cars than America" my opinions could be biased. The Honda SW is out as it is too big for me to handle with ease and the few times I ridden them the reach to the handle bars is too great for me, but loved the ride and performance. The Beemer is only in the discussion because of the cost factor,  but there are several Burgman 400's in the area in the 2.5-3k range. Keeping mine until the wheels fall off seems like a good call. Thank you.
