jingling sound
« on: January 15, 2020, 07:16:51 AM »
have a sound that startles me slightly, along with something that accentuates it. the sound is a jingle, seems to be coming from the middle/front. I initially thought it was the wheel but its hard to find where exactly it's coming from. started after having taken a couple short drives slightly above the weight capacity. nothing problematic in terms of operation, but I'm curious.

the accentuation is when I'm starting from idle, my 200i begins to vibrate harder than normal. nothing super intense but it's noticably more shaky when in the low gear. any fixes?

thanks in advance, am huge noob

Please elaborate - riding it "slightly above the weight capacity".
Approximately how much weight was on it?
The roller weights can rattle a bit at idle. The clutch will often begin to judder as you pull away.
This can be caused by being too gentle with the throttle as you move away from a stop. A brisk bit of throttle will get the clutch locked up and working properly....while a gentle throttle will let the clutch pads slip too much and become glazed which then can be felt as a judder as you pull away.
The fix? No worries if jingle is the roller weights. Clutch judder > live with it, don't make it worse by too light throttle when moving from a stop -- or open belt cover, remove clutch and lightly sand clean the clutch pads.....and start being brisk with the throttle,  or a juddering clutch will come right back.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.
