My Lucky Day
« on: November 19, 2019, 10:46:35 PM »
This morning, Tuesday, had make a WalMart run---few drops of rain, decided to take my seldom driven Mitsuibishi Mirage.

Stopped at red light, creeping forward, waiting to turn right on red, Lady ran into me---I had noticed before she was on phone ---we hit no damage to my car, or me.

Looking back had I been on my scooter, it would have least a knockdown......several years ago a lady on phone/Dodge Minivan ran 2 stop signs and hit me from behind at the third stop sign......I ended up on top of the Minivan, unhurt, but fall down with bike on top of me, injured my hand, operation necessary---bike totaled.

These idiots on phone/driving should be banned from driving

Was she ticketed,?  and for driving distracted?
Glad you're OK.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

No, not ticketed.  Didn't call Police.  Usually if Policeman hasn't seen the incident, no ticket.  TN has low driving standards---so lots of idiots driving.

Not just Tennessee John. We have far too many drivers here in the UK who think it’s an acceptable risk to drive with a mobile phone clamped to their ear! We used to have more traffic cops to enforce traffic laws, but not now so drivers think they’ll not be caught.  Makes for a riskier ride for us on 2 wheels though.

That's a big reason I am constantly looking in the rear view mirrors, checking for distracted drivers coming up from behind.  When stopped at lights, I watch like a hawk whatever vehicle is behind me until they've stopped at a safe distance.  It's a habit learned from years of cycling, and recommend to everyone riding on two wheels of any kind.
2014 BV 350  "IndiGO" (fast, strong and tireless)
2006 Honda Rebel 250  "Snow Leopard" (stealthy, agile and durable)
2018 Lance Cali Classic 200i  "Black Panther" (smooth, nimble, quiet and quick)
2016 Wolf V-50 (sold)

Wanted a Kymco, ended up w a Lance, but that forum is inactive, so I am here
